Sriracha Municipality Commemorates Thai National Flag Day

Sriracha, Thailand – On September 28th, the Sriracha Municipality held a ceremony to mark Thai National Flag Day in front of the municipal flagpole. The event was led by Mr. Praphat Charoensantisuk, Deputy Mayor of Sriracha, alongside municipal executives, council members, department heads, and municipal staff.

The ceremony celebrated the significance of September 28th, recognized as Thai National Flag Day, a date honoring the Thai national flag as the supreme symbol of the nation. The Thai flag has evolved through various designs. In 1917, during the reign of King Rama VI, His Royal Majesty enacted a new Flag Act, standardizing the flag’s design. He also defined the meaning of its colors: red for the nation and its people, white for religion, and blue for the monarchy.

The tricolor flag serves as a powerful symbol of national unity, reminding Thais of their ancestors’ sacrifices to preserve the land. It fosters pride, unity, and a collective spirit that drives the nation’s progress. The event aimed to instill national pride and pay tribute to His Royal Majesty King Rama VI for establishing the tricolor as Thailand’s national flag.
