Pattaya, Thailand – At 11:40 PM on September 26th, 2025, officers from the Pattaya City Police Station received a call for assistance from Mr. Somjit Thammachart, a 69-year-old driver of a Pattaya Cooperative Songthaew (Baht Bus). He reported a female passenger who was unresponsive, suspected to be heavily intoxicated.
At the scene in front of the police station, authorities found a Thai woman, approximately 35 years old, wearing a white t-shirt and shorts, unconscious on the back seat of the songthaew. Despite attempts to wake her, she remained unresponsive, causing the driver to fear for her safety and seek immediate help from the police and the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue team.
Mr. Somjit told The Pattaya News that the woman boarded his vehicle along Pattaya Second Road, appearing normal at first. However, she showed no intention of getting off at the end of the route. When he checked on her, he found her slumped over and fast asleep. After multiple failed attempts to rouse her, he drove directly to the Pattaya City Police Station for assistance.

Rescue personnel used ammonia smelling salts to revive the woman, who eventually regained consciousness. After assessment, they confirmed she was uninjured but had consumed excessive alcohol, leading to her deep sleep. She was reported to be safe following the incident and officers helped get her home safely.
