Sriracha, Chonburi– A severe collision between a car and a motorcycle taxi in Sriracha, Chonburi, left a 63-year-old taxi rider critically injured on September 27th, 2025. The incident, captured on dashcam footage, occurred at 9:30 AM at the Nad Phob U-turn on Sukhumvit Road, heading towards Chonburi, in the Bang Phra subdistrict.
Emergency services from the Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue Unit were alerted to the accident, where they found a white BYD electric sedan, registered in Bangkok, driven by 27-year-old Pirun Arunrungsami, collided with a blue Honda Wave motorcycle (yellow public transport plate) ridden by Wichanont Klinhom, 63, a motorcycle taxi rider. Mr. Wichanont was found unconscious on the road beside the car, with severe abrasions across his body. His motorcycle lay approximately 10 meters ahead, thrown forward by the impact.
Dashcam footage from the sedan revealed that the car accelerated from the Bang Phra traffic light and was traveling in the rightmost lane. As it approached the U-turn, marked by traffic cones, the sedan driver swerved left to avoid them. At that moment, Mr. Wichanont, riding in the left lane, changed lanes to the right to make the U-turn, placing him directly in the sedan’s path. The high-speed collision sent the motorcyclist crashing to the ground, falling unconscious, and propelled his bike forward.

Rescue paramedics from Samitivej Sriracha Hospital performed CPR at the scene to restore Mr. Wichanont’s vital signs before rushing him to the hospital for urgent treatment. Police from Sriracha Police Station inspected the scene, collected evidence, including the dashcam footage, and took Mr. Pirun to the station for questioning. Authorities are proceeding with legal action as they investigate the incident.
