Pattaya, Thailand – On September 25th, 2025, at approximately 11:00 PM, a body was discovered floating in the sea opposite Soi 13 on Pattaya Beach. Pol. Lt. Col. Suthiraphan Thapsri, an investigator from Pattaya City Police Station, received the report and went with the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue team to investigate the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found a large crowd of Thai and foreign tourists gathered, observing the incident. Rescue personnel successfully retrieved the body from the sea. The deceased, identified as Mr. Myat Tet Thu, a 34-year-old Myanmar national, was shirtless and wearing brown shorts. Preliminary estimates suggest he had been deceased for at least seven hours. Police secured the area, restricting access to unauthorized individuals, and covered the body with a white cloth.

Mr. Suthipong Suriyawong, 38, who had recently met the deceased, provided a statement to the police. He revealed that he had known Mr. Myat Tet Thu for only two days and had socialized with him at the beach earlier in the day, where they consumed alcohol together. The deceased had initially claimed to be a Singaporean citizen. On the day of the incident, around 4:00 PM, Mr. Myat was drinking at the beach before going for a swim. Mr. Suthipong assumed he had returned to his accommodation and was unaware of any issues until learning of the body’s discovery.

Initial investigations are underway, and the body has been sent to Banglamung Hospital for storage pending a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are continuing to investigate this mysterious case to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, although early speculation from police is that the victim was intoxicated and later drowned.
