PATTAYA, Thailand – On September 20th, 2025, at 2:36 AM, Lt. Manasak Phonyiam, Deputy Inspector of Investigations at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a theft targeting a foreign tourist at Pattaya Beach. After notifying his superior, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, Chief of the Pattaya City Police Station, Lt. Manasak led a team of investigative officers to the scene.
At the location, authorities met Mr. Devda, a 24-year-old Indian national, who was visibly upset. Mr. Devda told the Pattaya News reporters that while he and a friend, also Indian, were strolling along Pattaya Beach enjoying the nightlife, a group of transgender individuals approached them. The group engaged in physical contact, hugging and touching them while offering companionship services. Mr. Devda declined their advances and broke away from the group.
Initially, the individuals attempted to detain him before dispersing in different directions. Suspicious, Mr. Devda checked his belongings and discovered that his gold necklace, weighing approximately 25-30 grams and valued at over 100,000 baht (around USD 3,000), was missing. By the time he realized the theft, the suspects had already fled.

Lt. Manasak conducted a detailed interview with the victim and coordinated with the investigative team to review nearby CCTV footage in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspects. The authorities are pursuing legal action to bring the culprits to justice.
Police urge tourists to remain vigilant and safeguard their valuables while enjoying Pattaya’s nightlife. The investigation is ongoing.
