Pattaya, Thailand – On September 20th, 2025, at approximately 10:30 PM, police from Nongprue Police Station received a report of a deceased individual found inside a vehicle parked at a petrol station along Highway 36 (Pattaya–Rayong), on the route heading toward Pattaya. Rescue teams and police then arrived at the scene to investigate.
Authorities discovered a locked SUV parked near the station’s restroom. Inside, a 41-year-old man, later identified as Kamthorn Phatthawattanakul from Rayong province, was found lifeless on the back seat. Evidence of carbon monoxide poisoning was detected inside the vehicle, and police recorded the scene for further investigation.
According to petrol station staff, the SUV had arrived and parked around 4:30 PM. The driver did not exit the vehicle. Approximately five hours later, during a staff shift change, employees noticed the car was still running with the driver in an unusual position, prompting them to alert the station owner and contact authorities.
CCTV footage revealed the vehicle entered the station at 4:28 PM, with no record of the driver leaving the car. Investigations later uncovered that the deceased had made a distressing phone call to relatives, saying, “I’m going to die now,” without disclosing his location. This left family members unable to locate him until the tragic discovery was made.
Police have collected evidence from the scene and are coordinating with the man’s relatives for further questioning to determine the cause and motivation behind the incident. Authorities have yet to release a conclusive statement and are continuing their investigation.
