Pattaya, Thailand – On September 20th, 2025, a joint operation by Banglamung district officials and local police led to the arrest of over 30 people involved in drug use and trafficking at a daily rental building in South Pattaya. The raid, prompted by a tip-off received through the “Banglamung Broken Down” Line application, targeted a five-story building in Nongprue.

Led by Banglamung District Chief Patcharapat Sritanyanon, the operation involved administrative officials, including Wanchai Wannaprom, Head of Administrative Affairs, and Kamphrai Laosaen, Banglamung Deputy District Chief, alongside officers from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau and Pattaya City Police. Authorities conducted a thorough search of every room in the building, knocking on doors to summon residents for urine tests and inspecting rooms for illegal substances.

The search uncovered drug paraphernalia, zip-lock bags used for drug packaging, and large quantities of methamphetamine pills (locally known as “yabba”) and crystal methamphetamine (“ice”). Over 30 residents, both male and female, tested positive for drug use. Additionally, several individuals were found in possession of drugs intended for distribution.

All suspects who tested positive for drug use were detained for documentation and will undergo rehabilitation as per legal procedures. Those found with drugs intended for sale have been handed over to investigators for prosecution under Thai law.
