Pattaya, Thailand – A tragic incident occurred at 7:36 PM on September 19th, 2025, when police received a report of a person falling from a height at a hotel in South Pattaya, along Thappraya Road. Deputy Inspector Phupha Hongyakul from the Pattaya City Police Station, accompanied by investigative officers and Sawang Boriboon rescue volunteers, rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of a 42-year-old Indian national, who had fallen from a room on the fifth floor of the hotel. His name has been withheld per The Pattaya News editorial policy.
Initial investigations revealed no signs of a struggle or theft inside the hotel room. Police noted that the victim had checked into the hotel earlier that afternoon. Evidence in the bathroom suggested a failed suicide attempt, with a towel tied to a clothing rack that had come loose. Authorities believe he may have then chosen to jump from the room’s balcony, leading to his fatal fall.
A witness, identified only as Ray, aged 40, recalled hearing what sounded like an argument coming from the upper floors of the building while customers were dining at the restaurant below. Shortly after, a loud crash was heard as an object struck the roof, followed by blood dripping down, causing panic among diners. Upon inspection, the body was found lodged in the roof.
Deputy Inspector Phupha Hongyakul has assigned rescue volunteers to transfer the body to the Police Hospital’s Forensic Institute for an autopsy. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements to determine the exact cause of death. Relatives of the deceased later arrived at the scene to meet with police.
The incident has left the local community and tourists in shock, with ongoing investigations to provide further clarity on this tragic event.
