Bangkok, September 16th, 2025 – Pattaya City has announced its support for the Miss Chinese Universe Pageant (MCUP) 2025, a prestigious international beauty pageant for women of Chinese descent, aimed at developing Thai-Chinese friendship and promoting cultural exchange. The announcement was made during a press conference at Sphere Gallery, Emsphere Shopping Centre, Bangkok, attended by Mr. Damrongkiat Phinijkan, a member of the Pattaya City Council, and Mr. Pittaya Phirom-on, Assistant Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya, representing the city’s leadership.
Marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, the event is organized by Thai Jia Ranai Group Public Company Limited, in collaboration with Thailand Headlines and Mangu Magazine. The pageant will be broadcast live across Thai, Chinese, and international media networks, reaching an estimated global audience of over 50 million. The initiative shows Thailand’s soft power, showcasing its cultural richness and tourism potential while reinforcing Pattaya’s role as a leading international tourism destination.
The MCUP 2025 aims to select a representative who embodies the spirit of Thai-Chinese friendship, promoting cultural and economic teamwork. Pattaya’s involvement shows its commitment to cultural exchange, tourism, and the development of young talent on a global stage, further solidifying its reputation as a world-class city.
