Pattaya, Thailand – September 15th, 2025: At the reception hall of Pattaya City Hall, Mayor Poramese Ngampichet warmly welcomed Mr. Jim Leacy, a representative of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF), along with his delegation. The meeting focused on discussions to explore Pattaya’s potential as a host city for the upcoming International World Snooker Championship, with proceeds after expenses to be donated to the Father Ray Foundation for social welfare initiatives.

The IBSF organizes the championship annually and recognizes Pattaya’s readiness in terms of facilities, infrastructure, and atmosphere, making it an ideal host for the global event. As a world-renowned tourism destination, Pattaya is well-equipped to accommodate international athletes and spectators. During the meeting, the IBSF Vice President sought the city’s support for logistical coordination and facilities. Preliminary plans include aligning the championship with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in March of 2026. Should the IBSF approve, a formal proposal will be submitted to secure official support, inviting Pattaya to co-host this prestigious international competition.
