CHONBURI, Thailand – September 4th, 2025: Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Sri Racha, Chonburi, has officially named its three newborn capybaras “Ging, Gong, and Kaew” following a public voting campaign that drew widespread participation. The announcement was made today by Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, the zoo’s director.

The capybara triplets, born on August 9th, 2025, captured the hearts of visitors and animal lovers nationwide. The zoo launched a naming contest via its official Facebook page, inviting the public to suggest and vote for names. The initiative saw an impressive turnout, with 94,543 participants casting a total of 30,942 votes. The winning names, “Ging, Gong, and Kaew,” emerged as the top choice.

In addition to celebrating the adorable newborns, the zoo organized a lucky draw for voters, offering prizes such as three capybara plush toys and 50 exclusive capybara-themed Line stickers. Winners can check their names on the zoo’s Facebook page, “Khao Kheow Open Zoo,” or contact the zoo at 0-3831-8444 ext. 213. Prizes can be claimed at the zoo’s Revenue, Business, and Information Department in Chonburi until October 31st, 2025.
