On August 31st, 2025, at 11:00 PM, a fire erupted at a large pile of sponge material waste behind the AMCO factory in Moo 4 in the Khao Mai Kaew Subdistrict. Mr. Bancha Udon, Deputy Mayor of the Khao Mai Kaew Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), received a phone call reporting the incident and quickly informed Mr. Jamnian Kiteepakoon, the Mayor of Khao Mai Kaew SAO.

Following the report, Mr. Jamnian ordered the deployment of water trucks and personnel from the SAO’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department to tackle the blaze. Support was also provided by the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit from the Khao Mai Kaew checkpoint and officers from Huai Yai Police Station’s Khao Mai Kaew outpost.
At the scene, flames were found rapidly engulfing a large pile of sponge material waste near the factory’s rear wall. Firefighters worked tirelessly, using water to douse the flames, and managed to bring the fire under control within approximately 20 minutes, preventing it from spreading and causing further damage.
No injuries or fatalities were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by relevant authorities as of press time.
