Pattaya, Thailand – On August 30th, 2025, Mr. Somsak Pojpatinya, former Director of Laem Chabang Port Customs Service, led the “Familiar Faces” group in a charity event at the Pattaya Orphanage Foundation in Banglamung, Chonburi. The annual program, aimed at supporting orphaned and underprivileged children, brought together a diverse group of philanthropists, including customs officials, business leaders, and community members.

Notable participants included Mr. Direk Kacharaks, Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department, Mr. Paisan Chuenjit, another former Director of Laem Chabang Port Customs Service, Mr. Payont Srinote, CEO of Sriracha Tugboat Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chatchai Timkrachang, Mayor of Sriracha City, among others. Together, they contributed essential supplies and funds worth over 300,000 baht (approximately USD 9,000) to support children from infancy through university age.

The event, a tradition initiated by Mr. Somsak in 1974 during his tenure as Director of Laem Chabang Port Customs Service, has been held annually to give back to society and inspire generosity. This year’s activities also marked a special occasion, coinciding with Mr. Somsak’s 70th birthday, adding a meaningful layer to the group’s efforts.

“Familiar Faces” invited the public to join their cause, encouraging donations of small items to uplift disadvantaged children. The group’s contributions not only provide practical support but also foster hope and community spirit, making a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
