PATTAYA, Thailand – A serious motorcycle collision occurred at 8:30 PM on August 28th, 2025, on a road behind a quarry in Ban Phu Sai. The accident, reported to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit, involved two motorcycles and left two people injured.
At the scene, authorities found a black-and-red Honda Wave 110i and a Honda Scoopy i. The rider of the Scoopy, identified as Mr. Khant Wai Phyo, a 22-year-old Myanmar national, had sustained a broken left rib and multiple abrasions. Rescue personnel provided first aid before transferring him to a local hospital. Two other passengers on the same motorcycle, also Myanmar nationals, reportedly fled the scene before authorities arrived. It was unclear why they fled.
The other party involved was Mr. Chanathip Khamngam, a 27-year-old delivery rider operating a black-and-red Honda Wave 110i. He had suffered a fractured right forearm and a head injury. Rescue workers administered first aid and transported him to a hospital for further treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle carrying the three Myanmar nationals crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with Mr. Chanathip’s motorcycle, causing both vehicles to lose control and crash. The two passengers, despite potential injuries and not being the driver, immediately fled on foot, with officers speculating they may have had visa related issues. Police from Huai Yai Police Station are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident and ensure a fair investigation for all parties involved.
