Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya City officials, led by Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn and Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawad, conducted a site survey at the Jomtien Municipal Office to assess its suitability for conversion into the new Pattaya Community Medical Center (Wat Boonyakanjanaram). The inspection was joined by Pattaya City Council President Banlue Kulavanij, Permanent Secretary Kiatisak Sriwongchai, council members, and relevant agencies.
The idea stems from the current medical center’s inability to accommodate the growing number of patients, particularly those with chronic illnesses, resulting in overcrowded waiting areas and safety concerns during adverse weather conditions like rain or strong winds. Discussions have focused on establishing a new, fully equipped medical facility with features such as an emergency room, meeting rooms, staff offices, temperature-controlled storage for medicines and medical supplies, and safer, more comfortable waiting areas.

Deputy Mayor Wuthisak revealed that the Jomtien Municipal Office site was deemed more suitable than the previously considered wastewater treatment plant location. Preliminary plans and a budget for the new center have been prepared, with the proposed design featuring a three- to four-story building equipped with comprehensive facilities and parking at the rear to serve residents in the Jomtien and South Pattaya areas. Construction is expected to begin soon.

The deputy mayor explained that the new community medical center will enhance public healthcare services, making them more accessible, efficient, and of higher quality. He also added about the city administration’s commitment to promoting better health outcomes for Pattaya’s residents.
