Laem Chabang Port Awards Scholarships to Local Youth, Promoting Sustainable Education

Laem Chabang, Thailand – On August 26th, 2025, the Laem Chabang Port Authority held the second iteration of its 2025 Sustainable Scholarship Program for youth in communities surrounding the port. The ceremony took place at the Trae Thong 1 Room of the Laem Chabang Port Welfare Center, with Lieutenant Yutthana Mokkhaw, Director of Laem Chabang Port, presiding over the event.

The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Sirima Keeratayakom, Deputy Director of Laem Chabang Port, along with port executives, staff, and distinguished guests, including Mr. Mitchai Prakobtham, Mayor of Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality, representatives from Sri Racha and Banglamung districts, the Mayor of Laem Chabang City Municipality, representatives from terminal operating companies (TLC), as well as community representatives and the scholarship recipients.

Lieutenant Yutthana discussed with The Pattaya News the significance of the Sustainable Scholarship Program, which forms part of the port’s initiatives focused on welfare, social development, quality of life, and environmental sustainability. Overseen by the Laem Chabang Port Community and Social Development Subcommittee, the program has been running continuously since 2014. To date, it has awarded 536 scholarships worth a total of 8,779,211.25 baht.

The program aims to provide educational opportunities for youth in surrounding communities, enabling them to pursue higher education. Recipients are selected by the subcommittee to ensure a strong and sustainable foundation for the communities around Laem Chabang Port.
