Pattaya, Thailand – An accident occurred at 8:36 PM on August 24th, 2025, when a high-speed motorcycle collided with a pedestrian on Sukhumvit Road near the Makro store in South Pattaya, heading toward Bangkok. The incident, captured on CCTV, left one person dead and another critically injured.
The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit in Pattaya received an emergency call and rushed to the scene. At the site, authorities found a red Honda Lead motorcycle overturned in the middle of the road. The rider, 18-year-old Mr. Sathapanik Lajantuek, was severely injured and lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to a local hospital. Nearby, a pedestrian, approximately 50-years-old, Mr. Surasak, was critically injured after being struck and thrown by the impact. Despite efforts by rescue personnel to perform CPR, Mr. Surasak succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Eyewitnesses reported that the pedestrian was crossing the road and had reached the rightmost lane when the teenage motorcyclist, riding in a crouched position at high speed, crashed into him with full force, sending both the rider and the pedestrian in opposite directions.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Chai Nares Phengkaen, Deputy Investigator at the Pattaya City Police Station’s Dongtan Curve Substation, arrived at the scene to investigate. CCTV footage clearly showed the motorcycle rider speeding before colliding with the pedestrian. Authorities are collecting evidence to determine the full circumstances of the incident and ensure justice for all parties involved.
