Pattaya, Thailand – On August 19th, 2025, the Nong Nooch Pattaya International Convention and Exhibition Center hosted the grand opening of the EEC Travel Mart, a major tourism promotion event aimed at reinforcing the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as a premier travel destination.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Adirek Un-osoth, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, and attended by key figures including Mrs. Ampai Sakdanukuljit Sliwinski, Chonburi’s Tourism and Sports Officer, Ms. Kanyachala Sukhitkul, Rayong’s Tourism and Sports Officer, Ms. Paweenawan Nilkhamhaeng, Chachoengsao’s Tourism and Sports Officer, and Ms. Thitiphan Phettrakool, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya. The event drew a large crowd of tourism operators, hoteliers, and representatives from entertainment and recreational businesses.

Mr. Adirek stressed the critical role of tourism in driving Thailand’s economy, highlighting the EEC’s unique strengths—high-quality attractions, rich cultural diversity, and professional tourism operators. “The EEC Travel Mart is a vital platform to boost confidence, enhance the region’s image, and elevate the EEC as a world-class tourism destination,” he stated.

The event brought together over 220 travel buyers from across Thailand to engage in business matching with more than 250 local sellers, primarily from the hotel, tour, entertainment, and recreation sectors. The initiative aimed to promote tourism marketing, facilitate direct networking, and showcase EEC’s tourism offerings to both established and emerging markets. The goal is to sustain and expand the region’s tourism revenue, a key economic driver for the provinces and the nation.

The EEC Travel Mart also featured engaging discussions on tourism trends led by prominent travel influencers, alongside presentations of curated travel routes that highlight the charm and vibrancy of the EEC provinces

The EEC, encompassing Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao, is renowned for its diverse attractions, including stunning natural landscapes, famous beaches, world-class resorts, and rich cultural heritage. With modern infrastructure, seamless transportation, and top-tier hospitality services, the region continues to solidify its position as a leading destination for both domestic and international travelers.
