PATTAYA, Thailand – On August 15th, 2025, at 10:36 PM, Chonburi Governor Mr. Thawatchai Srithong ordered a joint operation involving provincial and local authorities, alongside Pattaya City Police, to inspect entertainment venues in Pattaya. The operation aimed to prevent illegal activities and enforce the “5 No” measures and the “No Drugs, No Dealers” policy set by the Deputy Prime Minister.
The task force, led by Acting Lt. Choltis Loyanont, Chonburi Provincial Defense Officer, Mr. Nathaphop Yomjinda, Deputy District Chief of Bang Lamung, and Pol. Sub-Lt. Suchart Dusadee, Pattaya City Police Inspector, targeted nightlife spots in South Pattaya. The first venue inspected, 168 Garden, was hosting over 200 Thai and foreign tourists enjoying drinks and live music. Authorities ordered the lights turned on and music stopped to conduct ID checks and random drug tests. No illegal substances or activities were found.
The operation also served to remind venue operators of strict regulations, including prohibiting entry to those under 20 unless employed, barring anyone under 18 from working in such venues, prohibiting weapons except for on-duty uniformed officers, banning intoxicated individuals from causing disturbances, and ensuring no drug-related activities occur.
Venues with over 20% of staff or patrons testing positive for drugs face a minimum 15-day suspension for improvements, while those exceeding 30% risk a five-year closure. All establishments must adhere to legally mandated operating hours.
