Chonburi Authorities Set Up Traffic Checkpoint to Combat Drug Trafficking and Use

Chonburi, Thailand – On August 15th, 2025, at 8:36 PM, a joint operation led by Banglamung District Chief Mr. Patcharapat Sritanyanon, along with Deputy District Chiefs Mr. Nathaphob Yomjinda and Mr. Natthawat Sophonsewatsilp, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirat Thetthong, Deputy Superintendent of Nongprue Police Station, established a checkpoint in Moo 2 in the Pong Subdistrict. The initiative aimed to curb illegal activities, including the detection of drug users and traffickers.

The operation involved administrative officials and Nongprue police officers conducting random inspections, particularly targeting youths displaying suspicious behavior. Vehicles passing through the checkpoint were searched, and random urine tests for illegal drugs were administered to detect drug use. Individuals found to be using illegal narcotics were advised to enter rehabilitation programs.

This proactive measure reflects ongoing efforts to prevent and suppress all forms of illegal activities in the region.
