Pattaya Police and Local Authorities Conduct Nightclub Inspection, Find Minor Drug Violations

Pattaya, Thailand – At 2:06 AM on August 12th, 2025, a joint operation led by Mr. Natthaphob Yomjinda, Deputy District Chief of Banglamung, alongside Pol. Lt. Col. Siriwat Khachamat, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, and Pol. Maj. Suchart Dusadee, Inspector of Pattaya City Police, conducted a thorough inspection of entertainment venues in Pattaya.

The operation, involving police and administrative officers, aimed to enforce the government’s “5-Free” policy and the “No Drugs, No Dealers” initiative spearheaded by the Deputy Prime Minister to curb illegal activities, focusing on drug use, weapons, and underage entry.

Officers inspected a lively nightclub where over 100 tourists were dancing to music. Authorities ordered the music stopped, lights turned on, and patrons separated by gender for drug tests and ID checks. The inspection found no underage individuals present, but two patrons tested positive for drug use, indicated by purple urine tests. They were detained for documentation and referred to a rehabilitation program.

Pattaya police and Banglamung officials vowed to continue random inspections of entertainment venues to comply with government policies aimed at eradicating drug-related activities in Thailand.

Authorities also issued a stern warning to venue operators: any establishment found with drugs or allowing underage entry risks being reported to the Chonburi Governor for a potential five-year closure as part of the ongoing No Drugs, No Dealers campaign as we reported here.

A similar raid took place finding minor drug violations yesterday, as reported here.
