PATTAYA, Thailand – On August 10th, 2025, Pattaya City Police, under the command of Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, arrested 29-year-old Indian national Mr. Kohli at a hotel in Nongprue. The arrest followed a warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court on August 7th, 2025, charging Kohli with forging documents, using fraudulent documents, and consuming food or drinks knowing he could not pay.
The operation, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Arun Sapanon, Deputy Superintendent of Investigations, involved a joint team of transnational crime suppression officers and tourist police. Kohli was apprehended at a hotel in Moo 10, Nongprue, and taken to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning, where he admitted to being the individual named in the warrant.
The case stems from an incident at a well-known Indian pub on Walking Street, where Kohli racked up a bill of approximately 90,000 baht for food and drinks. He presented a fake bank transfer slip to claim payment, but the pub later discovered no funds had been transferred, bringing them to file a complaint with Pattaya City Police.
Pol. Col. Anek stated that while Kohli claimed this was his first offense, authorities remain skeptical and are continuing their investigation. Police are urging business owners who suspect similar incidents or recognize Kohli to come forward with evidence. Kohli is currently under investigation, with charges to be formally filed as per the arrest warrant before the case proceeds to court.
