CHONBURI, Thailand – On August 8th, 2025, at 12:30 AM, Chonburi Immigration Police, led by Pol. Col. Natphong Khositsuriyamanee, Superintendent of Chonburi Immigration Office, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Kawinwatch Arayasuriwong, Deputy Superintendent, and Pol. Maj. Thong Ko-tonan, Inspector, arrested a 24-year-old Malaysian man, Mr. Tak Sun Chong, at a condominium in Soi Thepprasit 9.
The suspect was apprehended for allegedly secretly recording intimate videos with Thai women and using the footage to blackmail them for money, threatening to leak the clips on social media.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a Thai woman at Pattaya City Police Station, who reported being lured via the WeChat application by Mr. Tak, who posed as a friendly acquaintance. He invited her to his condominium room, where he secretly recorded their intimate encounter using hidden cameras. He later used the footage to extort money, threatening to upload the videos to pornographic websites if she refused to pay.

Immigration and local police worked together to apprehend the suspect, seizing evidence including two miniature hidden cameras, a flash drive, memory cards, various electronic devices, and two mobile phones. Examination of the flash drive revealed numerous explicit videos recorded between 2021 and 2025, implicating dozens of Thai women as victims. Some victims had allegedly paid sums ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands of baht to prevent the release of the videos.
Further investigation revealed that Mr. Tak had entered and exited Thailand five times on a tourist visa but had overstayed his latest visa by more than 400 days. During questioning, the suspect at first denied the allegations and was uncooperative but later admitted to creating the explicit videos for blackmail purposes. He confessed to using a stolen keycard to access a condominium in Jomtien as his base of operations, which was not his own residence.
Authorities remain skeptical of his statements and are investigating whether the videos were uploaded to secret or dark web platforms. The suspect has been handed over to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal action.
