PATTAYA, Thailand – August 4th, 2025 – Residents of Soi Yensabai in South Pattaya have lodged complaints about a group of Kuwaiti youths causing disturbances by riding loud motorcycles through the neighborhood, revving their engines late into the night.
At 4:00 AM on August 4th, 2025, local residents reported that the group’s incessant noise from modified exhausts prevented them from sleeping. Frustrated, they contacted Pattaya City Police, who responded by inspecting the area and seizing several noisy big bikes. However, after the police left, the gang resumed their disruptive behavior, seemingly undeterred by law enforcement.
Locals say this issue has persisted for weeks with no effective resolution. The constant disturbances have driven some families to relocate, unable to tolerate the noise. Residents are now urging authorities to take decisive action to restore peace to the community.
Police have pledged to increase patrols and enforce stricter measures against illegal exhaust modifications, but residents remain skeptical, calling for a permanent solution to end the nightly disruptions.
The Pattaya News notes that this has been an issue in this area for several years between July to early September as thousands of Kuwaiti college students on summer school break visit Pattaya for their holiday. Although the problem is naturally resolved when classes resume, the behavior has led to multiple accidents, some fatal, over the years as well as brawls and disturbances between residents and tourists over the behavior, raising tensions.
Additionally, local residents say the students never wear helmets and rarely, if ever, have proper licenses, registration, insurance, and other mandatory paperwork required to legally drive, on top of violating many road rules and speeding.
