Pattaya, Thailand – On July 31st, 2025, at 11:00 AM, Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngampichet welcomed Associate Professor Dr. Nantharika Chansue, Academic and Promotion Chairperson of the Thai Coral Reef and Marine Life Conservation Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, along with her delegation. The visit marked the donation of bedpans under the foundation’s “Upcycling for Life” project, aimed at supporting bedridden patients at Pattaya City Hospital and other healthcare facilities in the area.

The handover ceremony, held at Meeting Room 132 in Pattaya City Hall, was attended by Mr. Poompipat Kamolnart, Secretary to the Mayor, Pol. Lt. Col. Phonphana Chokthai, Director of Pattaya City Hospital, and officials from the Public Health and Environment Department.

The “Upcycling for Life” project, initiated by the foundation, focuses on innovative solutions to enhance quality of life and environmental sustainability by repurposing waste materials, including used plastics, natural debris, and marine litter. The project has developed lightweight, ergonomic bedpans designed specifically for bedridden patients and the elderly. These eco-friendly bedpans reduce pressure points, are non-toxic, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly.

Having been tested in real-world medical settings, they are well-suited for community and hospital use in Pattaya, offering significant benefits to both society and the environment.
The foundation donated 400 bedpans to Pattaya City, which will distribute them to Pattaya City Hospital and other local healthcare facilities. This contribution aims to improve the quality of life for bedridden patients in the Pattaya area.
