Pattaya– At 4:06 AM on August 1st, 2025, Pol. Lt. Col. Alis Phuangwai, Deputy Chief of Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a tourist being assaulted and injured at a parking lot outside an entertainment venue in Soi Siam Sam Tat Phettrakul. After notifying his superior, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, he led a team to investigate the scene.

At the location, authorities found Mr. Koh, a 29-year-old South Korean national, visibly shaken with a head wound and facial bruises. Mr. Koh alleged to police that he was attacked by assailants who attempted to allegedly rob him of 300,000 baht and forcibly planted approximately 20 pieces of a narcotic substance, identified as ketamine vape pods, in his bag before fleeing. He sought immediate assistance from the police.
A security guard at the entertainment venue provided further details, stating that Mr. Koh had been socializing with a group of nearly 10 Thai individuals. The group was seen conversing outside the venue before leaving together in a vehicle. Upon returning, Mr. Koh was found injured, though the guard was unaware of the cause of the assault.

Police remain skeptical of Mr. Koh’s account and plan to conduct a detailed interrogation with the assistance of an interpreter to clarify the circumstances of the incident. If suspects are identified, they will be pursued and prosecuted according to the law.
