PATTAYA, Thailand – A violent brawl in the early hours of July 23rd, 2025, left an unidentified foreign national injured in Pattaya’s Soi Buakhao. The incident, reported at 4:06 AM, brought a quick response from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit and Pattaya City Police.
At the scene, authorities found the foreigner with a severe head injury, bleeding heavily and lying on the roadside. Rescue personnel provided first aid before rushing him to a nearby hospital. The other parties involved remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
According to witnesses, the incident stemmed from a dispute between the foreigner and a 38-year-old transgender woman, identified only as Panya, over unpaid fees for companionship. The situation escalated when the intoxicated foreigner allegedly became aggressive. A group of motorbike taxi drivers attempted to intervene and de-escalate the conflict, but the foreigner reportedly attacked them, landing a punch on one driver’s face. In retaliation, the drivers fought back, causing the foreigner to fall and hit his head, resulting in the injury.
Mr. Panya stated that the foreigner, intoxicated and acting erratically, had followed her despite her attempts to leave. She said that the motorbike taxi drivers were not initially involved but stepped in to mediate, only to be targeted by the foreigner, who allegedly even attempted to use objects as weapons.
A bystander recorded a video showing the foreigner attempting to assault the motorbike taxi drivers, who were noticeably smaller in stature. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to ensure a fair investigation for all parties involved. The Pattaya News notes that some witnesses statements at the scenes differed, with some foreign witnesses claiming the motorbike taxi drivers were overly aggressive and not trying to deescalate the situation, hitting the foreigner twice causing him to fall and hit his head. As these statements differed from Thai witnesses and the transgender woman involved, police would review tapes and determine the actual sequence of events for legal accountability.
