Chonburi, Thailand – A group of five teenage motorbike riders, locally known as “dek waen,” were caught on CCTV stealing from a parked motorcycle at a gas station along Highway 331, heading toward Chachoengsao, in Moo 4. The incident occurred at 2:18 a.m. on July 13th, 2025.
The footage shows the group, riding two motorbikes, fleeing a police checkpoint and stopping at the gas station’s motorcycle parking area. Spotting a key left in the seat of a parked motorcycle belonging to a gas station worker, one of the teens opened the seat and stole 600 baht in cash and a set of tools stored underneath. The group then quickly fled the scene on their motorbikes.
The motorcycle’s owner, 18-year-old Thanaphong Jaiboon from Buriram Province, a gas station worker, expressed his distress over the theft. Having worked at the station for just over two months, Thanaphong said he kept the money under the seat to cover his rent. He urged the thieves to return the stolen items, warning that if they fail to do so, he will file a police report with the Phanat Nikhom Police Station, using the CCTV footage as evidence to pursue legal action.
