American Tourist Assaulted After Foiling Pickpocket Attempt by Two Transgender Women in Pattaya

PATTAYA, Thailand – On July 15th, 2025, at approximately 4:26 AM, an American tourist, Mr. Saber, reported an assault to Pattaya City Police after a violent encounter with two transgender women near Soi 6/1 along Pattaya Beach.

According to Mr. Saber, he was walking in the alley when two scantily clad transgender women approached him, offering companionship services and engaging in physical contact. During the interaction, one of them allegedly pickpocketed 3,000 baht from his trouser pocket. When Mr. Saber confronted them and demanded the return of his money, a heated argument ensued. The situation escalated, resulting in one of the women striking him on the head with a rock, causing a severe head injury.

Mr. Saber, with blood streaming from his wound, sought help from a passerby who assisted him in reaching the Pattaya City Police Station. There, he filed a complaint with Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanant Kesornbua, Deputy Investigation Officer.

Police have launched an investigation, coordinating with the investigative unit to gather evidence, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area, to identify and apprehend the suspects. Authorities are committed to pursuing legal action against those responsible.
