CHONBURI, Thailand – A gang of three Russian nationals allegedly stole 2 kilograms of premium organic cannabis valued at 160,000 baht from a cannabis clinic in Banglamung, Chonburi, before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford sedan. The brazen theft occurred on July 4th, 2025, at approximately 9:00 PM, leaving the clinic owner reeling from the loss.
According to a viral Facebook post by a local user, the suspects, arriving by car, entered the clinic off of Moo 10 near Soi Khao Talo, posing as customers. The post included images of the suspects and their vehicle, urging the public to report any sightings, with a promise of a reward for information leading to their capture. The clinic owner has since filed a police report.
On the evening of July 9th, 2025, reporters visited the cannabis clinic and spoke with the owner, Mr. Chuwanchom Panboon, 55. He explained how three men, who identified themselves as Russian and spoke Russian, arrived at the clinic around 9:00 PM on July 4th, expressing interest in purchasing 2 kilograms of high-grade organic cannabis. After negotiating for over 30 minutes, they agreed on a price of 160,000 baht. As Mr. Chuwanchom prepared the cannabis on the counter and went to retrieve paperwork for the sale—a standard procedure for large transactions—the suspects grabbed the cannabis and fled.
“They planned this carefully,” Mr. Chuwanchom told reporters. “I turned away briefly to get the documents, and when I looked back, they were rushing out the door with the cannabis.” He immediately reported the theft to Nong Prue Police Station and is offering a 20,000-baht reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprits, citing the severe financial impact of the loss.
CCTV footage obtained by reporters shows the three foreign men entering the clinic at 9:27 PM. By 9:57 PM, they are seen hurrying out, with one suspect carrying a backpack believed to contain the stolen cannabis. The group then sped off in a blue Ford sedan, heading down Soi Khao Talo.
Authorities are investigating and urge anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to come forward. The incident has sparked local outrage, with the clinic owner appealing for public assistance to bring the thieves to justice.
