Banglamung, Chonburi – On June 16th, 2025, at 5:00 PM, authorities conducted a raid on a suspected drug den in Soi Huay Yai Jeen. The operation was led by District Chief Patcharapat Sritanyanon, who directed Wanchat Wannapram, Head of the Administrative Group, and Kamphrai Laosaen, an administrative officer, alongside members of the Banglamung Territorial Defense Volunteers.
Upon arriving at a two-story house, officials discovered individuals engaged in drug use. Some suspects managed to flee, but authorities detained the homeowner, 41-year-old Piyapong Sudphun, and his 23-year-old girlfriend. A search of the bedroom revealed a significant amount of drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes, smoking bongs, resealable plastic bags, lighters, and traces of narcotics in zip-lock bags. A bag of crystal methamphetamine (ice) was found on a glass table, but the suspects allegedly tore open the bag and discarded the drugs while officers were distracted.
During the raid, a motorcyclist arrived at the house to purchase drugs and was promptly apprehended. In total, five drug users were arrested. Authorities stated that the operation is part of a broader campaign to eradicate drugs in the community and ensure public safety. They urged residents to report suspicious activities to the Damrongdhama Center or the 24-hour hotline, 1567, encouraging the public to serve as vigilant eyes and ears in the fight against drugs.
