PATTAYA, Thailand – June 17th, 2025 – Pattaya police, in collaboration with the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, arrested a 42-year-old German national, Mr. Jansen, for allegedly trafficking cocaine and illegal possession of a firearm. The operation, conducted at 9:00 AM on June 17, 2025, resulted in the seizure of 427 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately 490,000 baht, and a .380 caliber handgun with ammunition.

Led by Pol. Col. Anek Sratongyoo, Commander of Pattaya City Police, and Pol. Col. Ekarin Sikkhagul, Commander of Narcotics Suppression Division 2, the joint task force included Pol. Lt. Col. Arut Saphanont, Pol. Maj. Suradej Imjai, Pol. Maj. Thanes Saeng-hiran, and Pol. Capt. Prasitboon Boonprasit. The team acted on intelligence indicating that a foreign national, allegedly employed at a bar and sports club in central Pattaya, was allegedly distributing cocaine to foreign clients while habitually carrying a firearm.

Following weeks of surveillance, the authorities orchestrated a sting operation. An undercover officer successfully purchased 2 grams of cocaine for 5,000 baht from Jansen in a prior transaction, lulling him into a false sense of security. On the day of the arrest, a second deal was arranged at a parking lot. Jansen, posing as a tourist, was spotted at a well-known fried chicken outlet. After the transaction was completed, he grew suspicious and fled on a motorcycle toward a bar and sports club in Soi Buakhao. Police later apprehended him there.
A search of Jansen’s residence uncovered an additional 424 grams of cocaine and the aforementioned firearm, bringing the total value of seized items to nearly 500,000 baht. During interrogation, Jansen claimed an unidentified German compatriot supplied him with kilogram quantities of cocaine, which he sold at 2,500–3,000 baht per gram to foreign buyers, splitting the profits. However, police remain skeptical of his account and are expanding their investigation to apprehend other members of the trafficking network.

Jansen, who has resided in Thailand for over four years, allegedly used his role at the bar and sports club as a front for his illicit activities. The meticulously planned operation by Pattaya City Police and the Narcotics Suppression Bureau has dismantled a key link in Pattaya’s drug trade, with authorities vowing to pursue all leads to dismantle the broader network.

The name of the bar was withheld pending further investigation by relevant police.
