Banglamung, Chonburi – On June 15th, 2025, residents of Village 5 in the Banglamung Subdistrict of Chonburi Province, participated in a lively election to choose their new village head at Sri Suwit School. The polling stations were open from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a strong turnout reported throughout the morning.
Five candidates competed for the position: Sarayuth Prathumdaeng, Wirot Homkajorn, Somkiat Saena, Phakphumi Prathumdaeng, and Nuchsa Phornjamroenrat. At 3:00 PM, Nathana Leejeiwarah, Senior District Clerk and Election Committee Chairperson, closed the ballot boxes and oversaw the vote count.
The unofficial results confirmed a landslide victory for Nuchsa Phornjamroenrat, who secured 541 votes. Other candidates trailed significantly, with Sarayuth Prathumdaeng receiving 221 votes, Somkiat Saena 230 votes, Wirot Homkajorn 53 votes, and Phakphumi Prathumdaeng 31 votes. Of the total ballots cast, 1,076 were valid, 6 were invalid, and 28 voters chose not to select a candidate.
Following the announcement, former Banglamung Mayor Lieutenant Jarewat Chinwat, alongside enthusiastic local residents, gathered to congratulate Nuchsa Phornjamroenrat on her decisive win, marking a celebratory moment for the community.
The official election results however have to be certified by the Thai election commission.
