Banglamung, Chonburi – On June 10th, 2025, at 10:16 PM, Banglamung District Chief Patcharapat Sritanyanon ordered a sweeping operation targeting illegal sales of “4×100” kratom drinks across the district. Led by District Deputy Kamphrai Laosaen, alongside members of the Banglamung Territorial Defense Volunteers, authorities raided six shops, confiscating over 500 bottles of boiled kratom drinks and more than 1,500 bottles of cough syrup used as a mixing ingredient.

The operation was prompted by complaints from local residents about shops selling intoxicating kratom drinks to youths, including some previously raided outlets that continued operations and newly opened ones. The crackdown successfully targeted all identified locations.
The first shop, “Pathum Kratom Leaf” from Lat Lum Kaeo Garden, operated out of a three-story commercial building in Soi Khao Talo. The ground floor served as a sales point for kratom drinks, while the second floor stored 130 bottles of cough syrup, including brands like Benadryl and others. The third floor housed a production area with brewing equipment, refrigerated ready-to-sell kratom drinks, and over 300 empty cough syrup boxes discarded in bags.
The second shop, located in Soi Praphanimit, yielded over 300 refrigerated kratom drink bottles prepared for sale. Authorities also found various cough syrups poured into containers with syringes for customers to select as mix-ins. A search of the premises uncovered 1,300 bottles of assorted cough syrups and multiple sets of brewing equipment, all seized as evidence.
Additional raids in Pattaya, Nong Prue, and Banglamung areas led to the seizure of over 100 more bottles of kratom drinks from other shops selling the 4×100 concoction. All individuals claiming ownership of the shops were detained, and authorities prepared arrest records before transferring them to local police stations for legal proceedings.
District Chief Patcharapat issued a stern warning to those involved in the illegal production and sale of 4×100 kratom drinks, urging them to cease operations immediately. He added that violators would face arrests and prosecution without exception, reinforcing the district’s commitment to eradicating this issue.
Kratom was decriminalized in 2022 in Thailand and in its natural leaf form is legal. However, selling it in food or drink needs a license and permission from authorities, and mixing it with cough syrup or other ingredients to make Kratom provide a stronger high is prohibited. Kratom is a naturally growing leaf in Thailand that on its own provides an upper level experience similar to caffeine.
