PATTAYA, Thailand – On June 10th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., a joint operation by Chonburi Provincial Police and Pattaya City Police led to the arrest of two men involved in a drug trafficking ring targeting teenagers in Pattaya’s tourist hotspots.
The operation, executed under the directives of Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatchai Jindakuansanong, Chonburi Provincial Police Commander, and Pol. Col. Chatree Suksiri, Deputy Commander, resulted in the seizure of nearly four kilograms of narcotics and a firearm.
The suspects, identified as Burin “Oat” Pholwiwat, 31, and Chatchawan “Boy” Wongthong, 36, were apprehended in front of a condominium on South Pattaya Road. Acting on a tip, undercover officers arranged a sting operation, catching the duo as they delivered drugs. A search of two locations—an apartment in Ban Eua Arthorn Mueang Mai Bang Phli and a nameless rental room in Theparak Soi 7, both in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan—uncovered a drug haul.
Authorities seized 3,915 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), 300 grams of ketamine, 7,000 methamphetamine pills, drug distribution equipment (including a scale and zip-lock bags), a modified blank gun, and six .38 caliber bullets. During questioning, both suspects confessed to distributing drugs sourced from an unknown supplier, claiming they were instructed to drop off the narcotics at designated locations.
The suspects face multiple charges, including possession and distribution of Category 1 (crystal methamphetamine) and Category 2 (ketamine) narcotics for commercial purposes, contributing to widespread drug proliferation. Additional charges include illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a weapon in public without justifiable reason, and driving under the influence of methamphetamine. Both men have been handed over to Pattaya City Police for further investigation and prosecution.
