PATTAYA, Thailand – A 40-year-old Thai man, identified as Paisal “Chicken” Jetjaroen, was arrested late Monday night for allegedly assaulting and robbing a 54-year-old Russian tourist, Mr. Gurov, in Pattaya. The incident occurred in the early hours of June 9, 2025, prompting Gurov to file a complaint with Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak Sonkamhan at the Dongtan Curve Branch of Pattaya City Police Station, reporting that he was struck on the head with a wooden object and robbed.
According to authorities, at 11:06 p.m. on June 9, 2025, Colonel Anek Sarathongyoo, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, and Lieutenant Colonel Torlap Tinamat, Inspector of the Tourist Police Division 4, led a joint operation involving Pattaya City Police and Pattaya Tourist Police. The team apprehended Paisal Jetjaroen, along with a second suspect, 38-year-old Kitti “Wut” Khamduang, in connection with a drug-related offense. Police seized 44 methamphetamine pills and two bags of crystal meth from an abandoned building near Chaiyaphruek 2.
Paisal confessed to the assault, but claimed he acted after witnessing Gurov allegedly molesting his 2-year-old daughter, who was left unattended on a tricycle while he was in a nearby wooded area. He alleged that he saw Gurov touching his daughter’s chest and attempting to touch her inappropriately, which enraged him. Paisal said he confronted Gurov, who then allegedly attacked him first, prompting Paisal to strike Gurov’s head with a piece of wood and steal a ring and an empty bag before fleeing.
Following the incident, police reviewed CCTV footage and tracked Paisal to an abandoned building along Chaiyaphruek 2 Road, where he was hiding. During the arrest, a search revealed 40 methamphetamine pills and two bags of crystal meth in Paisal’s possession, with an additional four pills found with Kitti. Both suspects admitted the drugs were theirs and confirmed their involvement in the assault.
Paisal, who has a criminal record including six prior arrests—four for drug offenses and two for theft—was detained along with Kitti. Both suspects and the seized evidence were taken to Pattaya City Police Station for further investigation. Authorities have handed them over to investigators for legal proceedings.
The case has drawn attention due to Paisal’s claims of provocation, though police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are unsure of Paisal’s story as of press time, especially while considering him being under the influence of illegal drugs and his prior criminal record.
