Banglamung, Thailand – On June 7th, 2025, at 10:00 PM, police from Banglamung Police Station conducted a successful operation to apprehend a drug trafficking gang in the Banglamung district, following orders from Pol. Col. Sarawut Nuchanart, Chief of Banglamung Police Station. The operation was led by Pol. Maj. Kornphong Sukvisith, Deputy Chief of Investigation, and Pol. Sub-Lt. Thongthawat Phonlakorn, Deputy Inspector of the Special Operations Unit, alongside the investigation team.

Acting on a tip from an informant, the police set up a sting operation at a rented room in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district. The team arrested three suspects and seized large quantities of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine (locally known as “ice”) and yaba (methamphetamine pills), as well as two vehicles used in the trafficking operation.

The first suspect, Mr. Kanin Wannakosit, 35, was apprehended with 4.15 grams of ice. A search of the premises led to the arrest of the second suspect, Mr. Chayaphon Urachuen, 38, who arrived to deliver additional drugs. Police confiscated 21.20 grams of ice and 15 yaba pills hidden in a white Honda Civic. The third suspect, Mr. Montchai Channuam, 34, was arrested after arriving in a black Toyota Vios. A search of his vehicle uncovered 29 grams of ice and 25 yaba pills concealed in a bag.

During questioning, Mr. Chayaphon admitted to acting as a middleman, distributing drugs to local youth in the Banglamung area. He revealed that the profits from his drug sales were squandered on mobile slot machine gambling, warning others against such activities, stating, “Even with the easy money from selling drugs, I lost everything to gambling. There’s no way to win.”

The police have seized the drugs and both vehicles as evidence. All three suspects have been handed over to the investigative officers at the Banglamung Police Station for further legal proceedings in accordance with Thai law.
This operation aligns with the anti-drug policy of Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatkiat Jindakuansanong, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the region.
