Los Angeles-
The Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival, hosted by 88rising, returned to Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on May 31st and June 1st, 2025, for a celebration of Asian-centric music, art, and culture. Among the star-studded lineup featuring K-pop icon G-Dragon, reunited girl group 2NE1, and R&B sensation Dean, it was Thai rapper Milli and Muay Thai legend Buakaw Banchamek who delivered one of the festival’s most unforgettable moments, transforming the global music stage into a showcase of Thai pride.
On Sunday, June 1st, Milli, whose real name is Danupha Khanatheerakul, took the stage with her signature high-energy performance, captivating the crowd with her sharp lyricism and magnetic presence. A veteran of the Head In The Clouds stage, having performed in 2022 and 2023, Milli is no stranger to commanding international audiences. This year, however, she elevated her set to new heights with a jaw-dropping surprise: an appearance by Buakaw Banchamek, Thailand’s world-renowned Muay Thai fighter.
As the beat dropped, Milli introduced Buakaw to the roaring crowd, proclaiming, “Everyone, this is the legendary Thai boxer, Buakaw Banchamek!” The audience erupted as the Muay Thai icon joined her on stage, turning the music festival into a symbolic boxing ring that celebrated Thailand’s cultural heritage. The duo’s electrifying collaboration blended Milli’s dynamic rap verses with Buakaw’s commanding presence, creating a spectacle that resonated far beyond the Rose Bowl.
