Chonburi, Thailand – On June 1st, 2025, Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi Province marked its 47th anniversary with a celebration themed “Celebrating the Bond Between Humans and Animals.” The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, Governor of Chonburi Province, and attended by Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, along with zoo staff, local officials, tourists, and the general public.
The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a photo exhibition titled “Khao Kheow Through the Years,” a talk session on the zoo’s history and present, adorable wildlife mascot performances, booths from zoos across Thailand, and a special “Night Zoo” experience showcasing animals after dark, starting at 7:00 PM. Additionally, volunteer activities were organized to support elderly and disabled animals.
To mark the occasion, the zoo announced exclusive promotions for June 3, 2025. Visitors born in 1978 (B.E. 2521) will receive a 20% discount on adult entry tickets (Thai nationals only), while children aged 3–12 years and under 135 cm in height can enter for free on the same day.
