Pattaya Welcomes Chinese Tour Operators in Sawasdee Nihao Initiative to Boost Tourism

PATTAYA, Thailand (May 30, 2025) – The Chonburi Tourism Federation, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), warmly welcomed over 300 Chinese tour operators from 34 provinces at the Ravindra Beach Resort and Spa. The event, part of the “Sawasdee Nihao” project, aimed to showcase Pattaya’s readiness to host high-quality travelers and strengthen strategic tourism partnerships.

The reception was attended by key figures, including Pattaya Mayor Poramesel Ngampichet, Ms. Phattharawanan Na Chiangmai, TAT Deputy Governor for Asia and South Pacific Markets, Mr. Chaiwat Tamtai, Director of TAT Pattaya Office, Mr. Thanapol Cheewarattanaporn, ATTA President, Mr. Thanet Supornsahasrungsri, President of the Chonburi Tourism Federation, and Mr. Nakorn Pholluek-in, Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization member, alongside tourism industry leaders.

The initiative focused on restoring confidence among Chinese tour operators, promoting professional hospitality services, and highlighting Chonburi’s tourism strengths. The Chonburi Tourism Federation facilitated free networking sessions between its members and the Chinese delegates, with Chinese interpreters from Sawang Boriboon School ensuring effective communication. This link between tourism and education sectors shows the region’s commitment to excellence and local talent.

The event featured lots of displays of Thai culture, with attractions like Thai Pattaya Garden showcasing world-renowned Thai cuisine, including Pad Thai, sticky rice with durian, tropical fruits, and Somtam. Spectacular performances by Alcazar Cabaret and over 50 artists from Thai Pattaya Garden, combined with warm hospitality from local operators, created an inviting atmosphere for the Chinese delegation.

The “Sawasdee Nihao” project is set to upgrade Pattaya’s reputation as a premier destination, fostering high-quality tourism and deepening Thailand-China tourism ties.
