PATTAYA, Thailand (May 7, 2025) – The Pattaya City Police Station, under the direction of Pol. Col. Anek Sa-thongyoo, Chief, launched a volunteer-driven Big Cleaning Day initiative on May 7th, 2025. The event mobilized police officers to spruce up the station’s surroundings, including scrubbing the parking lot and adjacent areas, to ensure a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for residents and tourists.
Supported by Pattaya City, the effort included a water-spraying truck, cleaning equipment, and personnel from the Bureau of Natural Resources and Environment. The program focused on improving the station’s public spaces, particularly high-traffic areas like the One-Stop Service center, to enhance the experience for visitors.
Pol. Col. Anek spoke about the importance of the activity, stating, “Big Cleaning Day encourages our volunteer officers to take pride in maintaining our station, a key service hub for the public. A clean and inviting space reassures visitors, especially the many tourists who rely on our services, particularly at night.” He added that the station aims to hold such cleanups monthly, with a special focus on facilities like restrooms, which see heavy use.
Participating officers will earn merit points for their volunteerism, with small tokens of appreciation provided to boost morale.
