Pattaya, May 8, 2025 – A motorcycle accident occurred at midnight on May 8, 2025, in Soi Boon Kanjanaram 8, leaving a mother and her young son critically injured. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a distress call reporting that a motorcycle rider had lost control and collided with a roadside electric pole, resulting in severe injuries.
Upon arrival, rescue volunteers and medical teams from a nearby hospital found Ms. Chotirot Prakothan, 34, the driver, lying in a pool of blood with a fractured skull and a broken left leg. Nearby, her young son, who was riding pillion, was unconscious with a severe head injury. Both victims were given immediate first aid at the scene before being urgently transported to a nearby hospital.
The crash site revealed a heavily damaged black Yamaha Grand Filano motorcycle, with its front end completely wrecked.
An eyewitness, Mr. Piyaphon Kopatthakit, 32, witnessed the incident, stating that he was riding his motorcycle in the opposite direction when he noticed Ms. Chotirot’s motorcycle skid on sand, lose control, and crash violently into the electric pole. The impact ejected both the mother and son in opposite directions. Mr. Piyaphon immediately contacted authorities for assistance.
Pol. Lt. Phuttharak Sonkhamhan, Deputy Investigator at the Pattaya City Police Station (Dongtan Curve Substation), inspected the scene and documented evidence. Authorities plan to review nearby CCTV footage to determine the precise cause of the accident. Further investigations are ongoing.
