Fire Breaks Out at Pattaya Condo, Tourists Evacuated, No Injuries Reported

PATTAYA, Thailand – A fire erupted at a high-rise condominium in Pattaya on May 7, 2025, causing panic as residents and tourists were hastily evacuated. The blaze, which occurred at a condominium in Soi Chaiyapruek 3, was reported at 8:06 p.m. to the Pattaya City Disaster Relief Center.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak Sonkhamhan, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, led a response team alongside Pattaya’s ground disaster relief personnel to the scene. The fire originated in Room 1911 on the 19th floor of the 29-story building. Flames were seen raging at the rear of the room, with thick smoke billowing across the structure, creating a chaotic scene as residents were urgently moved to safety.

Firefighters deployed water and chemical agents to extinguish the blaze, successfully bringing it under control. Initial investigations revealed that an air conditioner compressor in a room had been severely damaged by the fire.
A witness, whose identity was withheld, said they were filming the Pattaya skyline when they noticed flames on the 19th floor. “I saw the fire and heard people shouting about it,” the witness said. “I immediately called the authorities and they evacuated the building.”

The room’s occupant, an unidentified foreign tourist, told police they had left the air conditioner running while stepping out for errands. Upon learning of the fire, they rushed back to the scene. Authorities suspect the cause was an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak documented the scene and collected evidence for further investigation.
