Australian Tourist in Wheelchair Allegedly Robbed by Thai Woman in Pattaya

PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 8th, 2025, at 1:10 AM, a 65-year-old Australian tourist, Mr. Keith, filed a police report at Pattaya City Police Station after being allegedly robbed of 350 USD and approximately 3,500 THB by a Thai woman. The incident occurred at a hotel in Central Pattaya.

According to Pattaya’s Civil Defense Volunteers, while patrolling the beach, they encountered Mr. Keith, who was in a wheelchair, shouting for help. He claimed a woman he met at the beach had stolen his money. Volunteers reported seeing the suspect nearby, wearing different clothing to evade recognition, but Mr. Keith identified her.
Mr. Keith told police he met the woman on Pattaya Beach, struck up a conversation, and invited her to his hotel room to hang out. After he went to shower, the woman disappeared, along with the cash from his trouser pocket. He later spotted her on the beach and alerted the volunteers, who assisted him in filing a complaint.
Police Lieutenant Rattanathong Saenputtawong, Deputy Inspector of Investigations, recorded the incident and coordinated with the investigative unit to track down the suspect for further questioning to ensure justice for all parties involved.
