PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 6, 2025, Pattaya City Council President Banlue Kullavanij led a team of council members, including Jidapa Suwatthaphorn and Phasakorn Yusomboon, along with Council Secretary Bancha Kullavanij, to Naklua New Market to launch a lighting upgrade project aimed at boosting safety across the city. The initiative, starting in Naklua, marks the beginning of Pattaya’s transition from orange to white street lighting.
Banlue announced that the project aligns with Pattaya’s administrative policy to enhance public safety. The city will replace 250-watt sodium bulbs, which emit an orange glow, with energy-efficient 110-watt LED bulbs producing brighter white light. This shift is expected to improve visibility while reducing energy consumption.
The project will cover all districts, with 2,500 streetlights per district being upgraded to white LED lighting. The entire initiative is slated for completion within 270 days (nine months), transforming Pattaya’s streets into safer, better-lit spaces for residents and visitors alike.
