Pattaya Prepares for Improved Seafood Market Launch in Naklua

PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 7, 2025, Pattaya City Hall hosted a meeting to finalize preparations for the opening of the comprehensive seafood market at Lan Pho Naklua, set to launch in early June.

Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn presided over the event, addressing 60 vendors and overseeing a lot-drawing process to assign stalls. The meeting was attended by Assistant Secretaries to the Mayor, Sakchai Charoenyukongrod and Korn Phatthanasin, along with Pattaya City Council member Supharerk Chomphunuch.

Phornphirom Sueadaeng, Director of the Environmental Health Promotion Division, and relevant officials clarified regulations, fees, and operational details. The upgraded market will feature 60 stalls (2m x 2.5m), categorized into four types: 14 for grilled and made-to-order food, 15 for fresh seafood, 12 for beverages, and 19 for ready-to-eat dishes. The market will also provide 30 dining tables, accommodating up to 200 customers, catering to both locals and tourists.
During the meeting, vendors submitted identity verification documents and were briefed on rules and fees. All 60 vendors are existing market operators, with no new vendors added. A vendors’ association was established, with four representatives chosen based on stall categories and one elected as chairperson. Communication will be facilitated through a dedicated LINE group set up by Pattaya City.

Vendors will cover water and electricity costs via individual meters, paying electricity bills directly to the Provincial Electricity Authority. Additional fees include an annual public vending permit of 750 THB and a monthly waste management fee starting at 40 THB (480 THB paid annually with the permit).
The new seafood and grilling service area at Lan Pho Naklua is fully prepared and will open to the public in early June, promising a great dining destination for seafood lovers.
