Pattaya-
At 2:56 PM on April 30, 2025, the Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of an accident involving a six-wheeler water truck that lost control and crashed into an electric pole. The incident occurred at the entrance of Sukhumvit 89, also known as Soi Thung Klom Tan Man. Rescue volunteers, The Pattaya News, and officers rushed to the scene.
At the site, a blue Isuzu six-wheeler water truck, with a four-ton capacity and a water tank, was found to have crashed into a high-voltage electric pole. The front of the truck was severely damaged. The driver, Mr. Thanaphon Jermchim, 35, sustained minor injuries and was standing at the scene, providing a statement to the police. A road sign was also damaged, having been knocked off the pole and fallen to the ground, along with a CCTV pole and a control box. Officers managed traffic flow due to heavy congestion during the incident.
Mr. Thanaphon explained that he was delivering water to a customer when the brakes failed as he was exiting Sukhumvit 89. With multiple vehicles ahead, he made a split-second decision to swerve and crash into the electric pole to avoid colliding with other vehicles on Sukhumvit Road, which could have caused serious injuries to others.
Nongprue Police officers inspected the scene, took photographs, and will review CCTV footage as evidence to support the investigation of this accident.
