Multiple Large Trucks Collide on Highway Near Pattaya, No Injuries, Driver Says Religious Amulet Protected Him

Near Pattaya-

At 1:06 AM on May 1st, 2025, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit in Pattaya received a report of an accident involving two 18-wheeler trucks colliding on Highway 36 towards Pattaya, in the Pong Subdistrict. Rescue volunteers were dispatched to the scene along with The Pattaya News team.

At the site, a Hino S700 18-wheeler was found with a flat tire, parked while the tire was being changed. Behind it was another Hino S700 truck which had been rear-ended by a Nissan truck causing large damage. The driver of the Nissan truck, Mr. Winai Laolai, 38, sustained no injuries.

Mr. Winai explained that he was transporting tapioca flour from Rayong to Chonburi when he likely fell asleep at the wheel. The dark road conditions contributed to him veering and crashing into the rear of the parked vehicle. Miraculously, he escaped unharmed, attributing his survival to the protective power of the Luang Pho Kuay amulet from Wat Khositaram in Chainat Province, which he wore.

After the incident, he immediately contacted authorities for assistance who were investigating the accident as of press time.
