Pattaya Moves Forward to Transform Walking Street Signage with Cutting-Edge 3D LED Screens

Pattaya-

Pattaya City is taking a further step toward cementing its status as a true world-class tourist destination by upgrading the iconic Walking Street signage into modern, state-of-the-art 3D LED screens.

Mayor Poramese Ngampichet announced that the project will revamp and modernize the aging signage at two major locations on Walking Street. These improvements are designed to provide a fresh and sophisticated look.

The first site at the entrance of Walking Street will see the transformation of the current static sign, measuring 8×4 meters, into a stunning LED display with a 9×12 meter dimension and P4.81 resolution. The curved, double-sided screen will seamlessly integrate with the entrance-exit gate’s structure, providing high brightness and sharp visuals, both day and night. The LED lettering spelling “Walking Street” will be complemented by aluminum composite-clad pillars adorned with color-changing neon flex lighting.

At the second site near Bali Hai Pier, the existing entrance sign will be replaced with a frontal LED screen measuring 9×3 meters, also with a P4.81 resolution. One side will display captivating visuals, while the reverse side will feature illuminated metallic letters spelling “Walking Street,” offering a dynamic and colorful appeal.

The four-month project, running from April 24th to August 21, 2025, includes discussions with city officials and business partners on the screen’s content. The goal is to create engaging visuals featuring light, sound, and animations that align with Pattaya’s vibrant spirit. Suggestions include promotional content using mascot characters unique to Pattaya, scenic depictions of local activities, and eye-catching designs to captivate tourists.

Mayor Poramese added that the project represents a commitment to advancing Pattaya’s global appeal while providing visitors with memorable experiences.

A final review meeting is set for May 5 to evaluate the proposed content and ensure the project adheres to the timeline while minimizing disruptions for residents and tourists.
