Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited, in collaboration with Khao Kheow Open Zoo and the Institute of Marine Science at Burapha University, is strengthening environmental efforts by launching a youth training program, the ZOO DAY CAMP, aimed at promoting wildlife conservation and environmental protection. This project is a cooperative initiative between Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited and Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
On April 29, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at the Conservation and Resource Development Center meeting room at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi Province, Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, together with Mr. Worapoj Rangsivijitrprapha, Director of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment at Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited, and Mr. Jirasak Chaemchuen, Head of Academic Services at the Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University, along with other executives, officially opened the second edition of the ZOO DAY CAMP 2025. The program included 40 students from nine schools in Chonburi Province, accompanied by 15 mentor facilitators. Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited provided funding of 200,000 baht to support the zoo’s activities.
Mr. Worapoj Rangsivijitrprapha stated that the environmental conservation collaboration with Khao Kheow Open Zoo, spanning over 24 years, includes support for various educational media, such as raised informational signs within the zoo, enabling students and the public to learn about wildlife. Other initiatives include the Mobile Zoo Project, which brings zoo knowledge directly to schools, and the ZOO DAY CAMP, a cooperative effort among Bangchak Sriracha Refinery, Khao Kheow Open Zoo, and the Institute of Marine Science at Burapha University.
Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, added that the ZOO DAY CAMP, now in its second year with support from Bangchak Sriracha Public Company Limited, seeks to instill a love and appreciation for natural resources and the environment among youth. The program encourages young people to advocate for conservation, fostering strong, sustainable communities that efficiently utilize natural resources.
